Report: Deportivo de La Coruna goalkeeper mulling MLS offers

Przemyslaw Tyton - Poland

A goalkeeper at one of Spain’s biggest clubs is considering offers to move to Major League Soccer this winter, according to a local media report.

La Voz de Galicia reported on Thursday that Deportivo de La Coruña’s Polish ‘keeper Przemyslaw Tyton has been courted by clubs in MLS and his native land, with his current club willing to allow him to pick his next destination should he decide to depart.

The report does not mention any MLS teams by name, and posits that Tyton, who turns 31 in January, is likely to remain in Europe. It says it’s also possible that his new club could grease the wheels on a transfer by assuring Depor – who currently sit in La Liga’s relegation zone as the Spanish top flight takes its winter break – of a percentage of any future transfer sale.

A Poland international with 14 caps, Tyton made 13 starts for Depor last season but has been limited to one La Liga appearance and one runout in the Copa del Rey during the current campaign, finding himself below Ruben and Costel Pantilimon in the pecking order.

Part of a talented Polish goalkeeping corps that also includes Wojciech Szczesny, Lukasz Fabianski and Artur Boruc (who recently retired from international play), Tyton has also plied his trade in the Bundesliga and Eredivisie.
