Report: DC United to bring back Bill Hamid from Midtjylland on permanent deal

Bill Hamid - DC United - August 31, 2019

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

Bill Hamid is not a D.C. United player at the moment, but a new report claims that is only temporary.

Steven Goff reported in The Washington Post Monday that Hamid will be acquired permanently from Danish club FC Midtjylland this offseason, with D.C. said to be paying a transfer fee of approximately $750,000.

Hamid, 29, spent the last season and a half at D.C. on loan from Midtjylland, after his signing there in 2018 failed to result in regular playing time. He did, of course, begin his career as a Homegrown signing with D.C., and has now played in the last 10 seasons for the club, making 231 regular-season appearances in that time and 10 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs appearances.

MLS Goalkeeper of the Year in 2014, Hamid has been in the mix of the US national team over the years, although he has not become a regular call-up.
