US men's national team defender Matt Miazga is going on loan again, this time with Belgian side Anderlecht, according to a Wednesday report from American Soccer Now's Brian Sciaretta.
Per Sciaretta, the Blues will send Miazga to Anderlecht for the upcoming season, where he'll play under manager Vincent Kompany – the former Manchester City stalwart who is widely considered one of the best centerbacks of all time.
Miazga, 25, was transferred to Chelsea in 2016 after breaking through as a Homegrown with the New York Red Bulls, but he has made just two first-team appearances for the English Premier League side. His first loan stint came with Vitesse in the Eredivisie from 2016-2018 before he joined French side Nantes from 2018-2019. He was most recently with English second-division side Reading, where he made 38 appearances and scored two goals.
Miazga got his first USMNT cap in 2015 and has one goal in 18 career senior-team appearances.
