Transfer reporting specialists Football Mercato are reporting that Atlanta United could try to sign former Arsenal and Manchester City right back Bacary Sagna on a free transfer.
Because the 35-year-old Sagna is out of contract, he could be added to Atlanta's roster as late as the Sept. 14 MLS Roster Freeze deadline.
Sagna made 13 appearances during the 2017-18 season for Benevento, who were relegated from the Serie A at the end of that campaign. Portland forward Samuel Armenteros also spent half a season with Benevento before moving to MLS in February.
The sides had previously talked prior to this season but could not reach an agreement, Football Mercato indicates.
