Arjen Robben - Bayern Munich - Chip


For the better part of two decades, Dutch winger Arjen Robben has tormented defenses with his speed and deft left foot. 

The Bayern Munich winger, 35, could soon bring that and more to Major League Soccer, per a report from from, an Italian soccer site. The story claims that Robben, who has already announced he’s leaving the Bavarian club at the end of the 2018-19 season, could spurn Serie A giants Inter Milan for a move to MLS.

Robben is due to be a free agent at the end of Bayern's 2018-19 season, meaning he could sign in MLS outside the Primary (Feb. 13 to May 7) and Secondary (July 9 to Aug. 7) Transfer Windows. In fact, clubs can sign free agents up until the roster freeze date, which arrives August 30. 

Throughout his career, Robben has made 96 appearances for the Netherlands, scoring 37 times. The winger entered professional soccer with Dutch sides FC Groningen and PSV, only to move to Chelsea, Real Madrid and then Bayern in 2009. 

Over the last decade, he has 143 goals and 101 assists in 305 games across all competitions for Bayern, as they’ve dominated the Bundesliga and been a Champions League constant. Robben, currently sidelined due to injury, has only made nine appearances this Bundesliga season.
