Anthony Pulis indeed will coach in MLS. It just won't be as a head coach in Saint Louis.
The son of former English Premier League manager Tony Pulis, Anthony served for two seasons as the manager of USL Championship side Saint Louis FC, which has officially announced he is departing the club.
While the Telegraph makes the link between Tony Pulis and former Premier League and England star turned Miami owner David Beckham, it does not indicate whether Beckham, Alonso or Miami's technical staff is leading the hiring.
Saint Louis will be joining MLS in 2022 as the league expands to 30 teams, but lower division managers recently have had trouble surviving the jump to MLS. For example, Adrian Heath lasted a season-and-a-half of Orlando City's MLS life before resurfacing more successfully in at Minnesota United. Former FC Cincinnati manager Alan Koch survived only a few months of MLS competition.
Pulis has some Florida roots, having played his final three pro seasons with the USL version of Orlando City and later as manager of Orlando City B, the USL side of the MLS Orlando outfit.
