Noah Powder - Real Salt Lake - celebrates a goal for Real Monarchs

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Signing

Real Salt Lake made another signing for the 2021 season, announcing the signing of defender Noah Powder from their USL team, Real Monarchs. Powder's signing follows the addition earlier this week of midfielder Bode Davis, an academy product and another Monarchs standout.

"I am extremely grateful for my time as a Monarch and want to thank their staff in helping me reach my goal," Powder said in a club statement. "As a Monarch the main goal is to play well and earn a chance with Real Salt Lake. I'm excited for this opportunity and ready for what’s to come in the near future."

Powder has been with the Monarchs since 2019, and played frequently during the Monarchs' run to USL Cup last year. He started his career in the New York Red Bulls academy and won the USL Cup with New York Red Bulls II in 2016. He also played for Orange County SC in between his time with Red Bulls II and the Monarchs.

Powder joins a string of players who have recently made the jump from USL to MLS at Real Salt Lake. Ahead of the 2020 season, RSL signed midfielder Maikel Chang from the USL side, and for the 2019 season, the team added midfielder Justin Portillo and forward Douglas Martinez.

"We have been tracking Noah for a while and the Monarchs staff has done a great job with him," RSL head coach Freddy Juarez said in the statement. "He’s been in some big games at the USL level with multiple teams so he has a lot of experience there. We feel he has the technical ability to play at the next level. Now we have to challenge him to help him reach his full potential and help the team."
