Real Salt Lake sign Bode Davis to Homegrown deal, effective next season

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing

Real Salt Lake have signed midfielder Bode Davis to a Homegrown contract, effective next season. Davis is the 22nd academy graduate to sign a first team contract with the club.

Davis, 18, made his professional debut for the reigning USL Championship winners Real Monarchs in July and has made 12 appearances for the club. Davis is a versatile player, making most of his appearances with the Monarchs so far at left midfield but played further forward during his time with the RSL academy.

“Bode is a player who has excelled in our Academy and shown a lot of potential in multiple places on the field," RSL GM Eliott Fall said in a club statement. "He has shown versatility and has the physical attributes to take the next step. We are excited by what we have seen at the USL level and excited to have him come in at the MLS level."

Real Salt Lake are currently sitting in 11th place in the Western Conference, though just five points separate 11th place and 3rd place.

“It’s a dream come true to join a couple other kids that I grew up playing with in a place I call home,” Davis said.  “I just want to keep working and I look forward to playing for the fans at Rio Tinto Stadium.”
