NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION 2, CHIVAS USA 0

CHIVAS USA HEAD COACH PREKI

On the game:

"I thought we did a decent job. We didn't give too many things away, but it's one of those times when the ball is not rolling your way. On the other side, you can't feel sorry for yourself. You have to pick yourself up for next game and make sure you're ready to play."

On using younger players:

"It's always good to give young players a little bit of time and a little bit of experience. But this is all about winning games and right now we're not winning. We want to see some of these young guys on the field for us getting some results and right now the get on the field but we don't get results. So we're frustrated."

On the recent run of injuries in the side:

"It looks like every time we go out to training or a game you don't know what's going to happen, somebody goes down. [Jonathan] Bornstein went down on Thursday on a fluke incident; there was nobody around him. It is what it is, you know, what we have is what we have. We have to make sure we're ready for next game, so no crying about it."

CHIVAS USA MIDFIELDER JESSE MARSCH

On giving up the first goal:

"Lately we give up the first goal all the time and our history has proven that we're not good at getting ourselves back in the game so that part has made it very difficult for our group. That being said, up until the first goal I felt like things were going okay. I feel like it's a little bit of a broken record because we've put a lot into games and in some ways we do OK. But either us playing in ways to get the upper hand or us getting a couple breaks here or there, right now it's not working. We're all a little frustrated but I still think it's a good group and we're going to stick together and figure this thing out. There's no one answer right now but we have to believe in each other and trust each other and keep moving forward."

On how the team can improve:

"When you're part of a group you've got to be very careful when something doesn't go your way about everybody kind of deflating. I don't necessarily think that was the case but it's certainly hard on us right now when we give up the first goal and we've got to learn how to get the upper hand and when we go down, how to deal with it, and get better."

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION HEAD COACH STEVE NICOL:

On Taylor Twellman's return to the lineup:

"It's good to see Taylor finishing again. I think in a striker you're always looking for him to hold the ball and score goals and he did both today. He could've had a hat trick, but he hasn't touched a ball for two months, three months. So he didn't do bad."

On what Steve Ralston brings to the game:

"It's just that extra bit of quality. The guys that came on all did a great job, but that extra bit of quality, a guy who can control the ball, can pass the ball. Hopefully he can get 90 [minutes] next week. He was feeling it a bit. I guess we're getting back to normal."

On getting a result on the road:

"It was important. We were pretty poor last week. I think we struggled a bit today but the important thing was we got the points. We could've had more goals, we would've liked a clean sheet, but we'll take the three points."

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION FORWARD TAYLOR TWELLMAN :

On injuring his ankle:

"It's definitely felt a lot better. I went to show for the ball and thought I stepped on Shavar Thomas' ankle. I don't know if I rolled it; I don't know. I probably shouldn't have [stayed in the game] but it is what it is. It's frustrating to work so hard to come back in four weeks and have a lot of energy the first 15 minutes and anytime Steve Ralston is behind me, he and I are going to play well together, but it's just kind of a bummer right now."

On his goal:

"Shalrie played a good ball in, laid it off and obviously, you have the MLS career assists leader behind you and he did the rest. I was trying to come back and help the team. I came in with a 1-0 lead and I was trying to help the team keep the lead and I was fortunate enough to put one in the back of the next and unfortunate enough to get hurt again."

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION GOALKEEPER MATT REIS:

On if getting players back means the team could hit their stride:

"Yeah, hopefully. We've been going up and down and haven't been able to put together any kind of win streak this year and hopefully we can start doing that. Getting everybody back is a step in the right direction."

On what Twellman brings to the game:

"Just his ability to hold the ball up for us. Everybody has so much confidence playing the ball to him even if he has a guy on his back. Then he scores on his second or third shot. He's just a great goalscorer."
