The FIFA executive committee's announcement on Thursday that Russia will host the 2018 World Cup and Qatar will host the 2022 World Cup undoubtedly came as a bit of an expected move to most. The United States and England, meanwhile, were left out in the cold and will have to wait until at least 2026 to bring the world's top sporting event back to their country.
