Oscar Pareja talks to "Men in Blazers" in wide-ranging conversation

Oscar Pareja looks into space - FC Dallas

FC Dallas head coach Oscar Pareja is burnishing his reputation this year, and it's no accident.

Pareja, head coach of FCD since 2014, has been part of a project that is starting to bear fruit on the first team level, with FC Dallas winning the U.S. Open Cup and Supporters' Shield so far this season and going for MLS Cup, beginning with a Western Conference Semifinal first leg on Sunday against the Seattle Sounders (9:30 pm ET, FS1 | TSN2 in Canada).

The Colombian, who had a distinguished playing career in his homeland and MLS before embarking on his coaching career, recently sat down with the "Men in Blazers" podcast, speaking with MiB co-host Roger Bennett for an exclusive interview.

Pareja talks about youth development, contrasting soccer in the United States compared to other countries, coaching and, oh yeah, his time playing with infamous drug lord Pablo Escobar in prison, in the interview.

You can listen to the full interview with Pareja on Men in Blazers' website.
