Orlando City sign versatile Brazilian Victor "PC" Giro from NASL

PC scores for Ft. Lauderdale vs. Orlando - 1/4/17

Orlando City SC signed versatile Brazilian defender Victor “PC” Giro to a four-year contract on Wednesday, the club announced.

Giro, who is known primarily as PC, joins Orlando after recording one goal and one assist in 14 games with the NASL’s Tampa Bay Rowdies in the second half of the 2016 season. Prior to joining the Rowdies, the 22-year-old spent a year and a half with the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers, scoring eight goals and adding four assists in 46 matches, with one of his strikes giving the Strikers a win over Orlando in the 2016 US Open Cup Round of 16.

“He is a young, energetic and skillful player that will give us creativity and versatility up the left side,” Lions GM Niki Budalic said in a statement released by the club.

Capable of playing as a left back, left midfielder or left winger, PC came up in Brazilian powerhouse Corinthians’ system before moving to the NASL.
