Two Eastern Conference foes coming off vastly different results on the weekend square off Wednesday night for the first of two meetings this week when Orlando City SC host the Philadelphia Union at Exploria Stadium.

Orlando City SC (6-8-3) moved to within two points of the playoff line in the East with a 2-0 win over the Columbus Crew at MAPFRE Stadium Saturday. Chris Mueller opened the scoring four minutes from halftime and Tesho Akindele put the game away in the 66th minute as the Lions bounced back from a 1-0 midweek loss to D.C. United.

The Union had a four-match unbeaten streak snapped in the Bronx Saturday night, losing to NYCFC, 4-2, at Yankee Stadium. Fafa Picault and Kacper Przybylko gave the visitors a pair of leads inside the opening 30 minutes on a pair of assists from Jamiro Monteiro. But the Cityzens scored three unanswered goals after the break to pull away with the win.
