Anatole Abang - New York Red Bulls - isolated


The New York Red Bulls announced on Thursday they have transferred forward Anatole Abang to Chinese second-tier side Nantong Zhiyun FC.

“We wish Anatole all the best in this next step,” said Red Bulls Sporting Director Denis Hamlett in a team statement. “We are pleased to have found a transfer that is beneficial for both the player and the club.”

The 22-year-old played for New York in MLS in 2015 and 2016, making 25 regular-season appearances and scoring four goals and one assist. He also scored one goal in two MLS Cup Playoffs appearances in 2015. He spent the last two years on a series of loans, for Danish club Hobro, Finnish side SJK, Romanian outfit Astra Giurgiu and the Red Bulls' USL team.

Nantong Zhiyun were promoted to the Chinese League One for the 2019 season. The team will be entering their fourth season of play.
