The New York Red Bulls have signed Waiver Draft selection Marcus Epps, the club announced Wednesday. The Red Bulls sent their second-round pick in the 2019 SuperDraft to the San Jose Earthquakes to trade up and select Epps.

Epps, 23, was selected 25th overall in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft by the Philadelphia Union and made 32 appearances for the club over two years, adding three goals and three assists across 15 starts.

“Marcus has a lot of qualities that we like,” RBNY head coach Chris Armas said in a media release. “His ability and willingness to take players on and run behind as well as his attitude make him an exciting addition. We’re glad to have him as part of our group.”
