New York City FC part owners Manchester City capture English Premier League title on final day

New York City FC part-owners Manchester City have done it again in England. But this time it was a little less dramatic.

The Sky Blues captured a comfortable 2-0 home win over West Ham United to claim their second English Premier League title in three years. They also won the 2011-'12 championship in the final matchday of the campaign with a last-gasp goal from Sergio Aguero.

This time, Manchester City went into the final day with a two-point lead over Liverpool and maintained the advantage as goals by Samir Nasri and Vincent Kompany nullified any hopes of Liverpool snatching the title after the Reds' come-from-behind win over Newcastle.

Manchester City teamed up with baseball powerhouse New York Yankees to land the New York City MLS expansion team in May 2013. NYCFC will play its first season in MLS in 2015 and the club's manager Jason Kreis has spent several months in Manchester in preparation.

Last month NYCFC announced they will be playing their inaugural season at Yankee Stadium.

Manchester City will also be visiting the United States this summer, facing off against current MLS Cup champions Sporting Kansas City on July 23.
