New England Revolution owner Robert Kraft to pull Revs-Patriots double duty for MLS Cup

Longtime owner Robert Kraft expects to pull double duty on Sunday when both the New England Revolution and the Patriots take the field roughly 110 miles from one another in Southern California.

Kraft told USA Today this week that he will be in attendance at StubHub Center when the Revs take on the LA Galaxy in the MLS Cup final (3 pm ET; ESPN | WatchESPN | UniMas | Univision Deportes | ESPN Deportes | TSN1 | RDS2), his team’s first appearance in the league title game since 2007.

Then he expects to fly down to San Diego to watch the Patriots play the Chargers in a huge AFC matchup on Sunday Night Football, if all things go to plan.

“I will definitely be at MLS Cup,” Kraft told USA Today. “I am planning to get to San Diego, too, as long as we get the helicopter permits.”

This is the fifth MLS Cup appearance in franchise history for the Revs, and Kraft and his family have owned the club since MLS’ inception in 1996. Despite all their success, however, they have never won a league title.

"It is an important game for the Patriots and San Diego is a tough team," Kraft said. "But if we win the MLS Cup and I am there celebrating with our team … well, I might be a little late."
