Nashville SC sign defender Robert Castellanos

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing

Nashville SC have signed defender Robert Castellanos, the club announced Wednesday. The center back was a free agent.

Castellanos, 22, debuted with LA Galaxy II in the USL Championship in 2017 and was most recently with Rio Grande Valley FC Toros, the Houston Dynamo's USL Championship affiliate. He made 37 appearances for the club over three seasons. 

“Robert has the tools to be a contributor at this level and has gained some valuable experiences already at a very early stage of his playing career," GM Mike Jacobs said in a club statement. "He will be able to add to the depth of our back line."

Castellanos is Nashville's latest addition of the winter, following the likes of Rodrigo Pineiro and CJ Sapong.
