Nashville SC release special edition patch in honor of Black History Month

Nashville SC - Black History Month - Patch

Nashville SC are collaborating with non-profit organization 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee throughout the month of February to raise funds in support of educational opportunities for Black male youth. In honor of Black History Month, Nashville SC will also release a special edition patch that fans and supporters can purchase through Feb. 28 at the club's official website.

All proceeds from the purchase of the patch will benefit the 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee, which provides resources to further the academic and social development of Black male students in Nashville and surrounding Middle Tennessee.

“We are excited to celebrate Black History Month and to leverage this moment to support the work of the 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee and their programs to help black male youth develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to succeed in life," Nashville senior director of community engagement Brandon Hill said in a Monday release. “Our club and our league as a whole are committed to addressing racial disparities in the Black community, and this month provides a wonderful opportunity to promote our commitment to this goal.”

The design on the commemorative patch combines Nashville SC’s signature gold “N” pattern with Black History Month’s historic colors of green, red and black, representing the club's commitment to its core value of inclusion and support of racial justice through recognizing the significance of Black history and the contributions of African Americans. It's the first of a series of patches that Nashville SC will launch in 2021 in conjunction with Soccer for All, Major League Soccer’s platform to advance diversity and inclusion.
