Nani provides assist in first start for Orlando as Lions draw in Chicago

Nani - Orlando City - March 2, 2019

After a sparkling debut off the bench, Nani made his first start for Orlando City SC on Saturday against the Chicago Fire as Orlando drew the Fire 1-1 at SeatGeek Stadium.

The former Manchester United forward was quiet for much of the first half but started the second half with an assist, his second of the year, as a defensive miscommunication saw his ball over the top to Dom Dwyer end up in the back of the net off Dwyer's toe.

His deft throughball to Ruan in the 64th minute led to a Jorge Corrales red card and the 32-year-old completed 87 percent of his passes before coming off in the 89th minute. The Fire found a late equalizer with him off the pitch, as CJ Sapong found the back of the net in the 95th minute.
