Montreal's Laurent Ciman scores first goal for Belgium in Euro tune-up

Laurent Ciman - Montreal Impact - Close up

He had to wait six years, but Montreal Impact defender Laurent Ciman finally has his first international goal.

The 30-year-old center back, who was first called up to the Belgian national team in 2010 and has earned 11 caps for his country, netted the Red Devils' winning goal in a 3-2 win over Norway in a Euro 2016 tune-up match on Sunday:

Ciman was an injury replacement on Belgium's roster, and though his primary task as a defendert is to keep goals out, efforts like this can only help his case to see more time as the Belgians try to take Europe by surprise this summer. Ciman & Co. kick off Euro 2016 with a heavyweight showdown against Italy on June 13. They will also face the Robbie Keane-led Republic of Ireland (June 18) and Sweden (June 22) in group play.
