Montreal Impact, former Marseille defender Rod Fanni trolls Paris St. Germain after Champions League final defeat

Rod Fanni - pounds chest - after scoring

Schadenfreude is a powerful phenomenon, even for the most self-motivated of humans ā€” such as professional athletes.

Montreal Impact defender ā€” and former Olympique Marseille regular ā€” Rod Fanni indicated as such with his delightfully cheerful Instagram video as he went off to work the morning after Paris St. Germain's Champions League Final defeat.

While MLS fans may be most tuned into the triumph of former Vancouver Whitecaps star Alphonso Davies with Bayern Munich, Marseille fans around the globe have exalted in their arch rival's defeat. And based on this subtle troll, Fanni has no trouble in joining them (while wearing Marseille club gear.)

Although PSG's ownership have poured enormous financial resources into their squad in recent years, Marseille remain the only French club to have won a UEFA Champions League or European Cup title, capturing the honor in 1993.

PSG joined the somewhat longer list of French clubs to lose in the final, joining Reims (1956, 1959), Saint Etienne (1976), Marseille (1991) and Monaco (2004).
