2015 MLS Rookie of the Year Cyle Larin has been nominated for two year-end Canadian national team awards.
The Orlando City striker, who this year broke the single-season league record for scoring by a rookie, is one of nine nominees for BMO Canadian Men's Player of the Year. He's the only current MLS player to be in the reckoning for that honor.
In addition, Larin is in the running for the U-20 Canadian Men's Player of the Year award, the only player to be nominated for two awards this year. Joining him in the nominations for that honor is Vancouver Whitecaps Homegrown midfielder Kianz Froese, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 defender Chris Serban.
MLS and USL were represented at the U-17 level as well, as Toronto FC II duo Gabriel Boakye and Tristan Borges, Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2's Kadin Chung, and Montreal Impact academy's Ballou Jean-Yves Tabla were among the nominees for Canadian Men's U-17 Player of the Year.
The senior team awards are voted on by coaches and media, while the U-20 and U-17 awards are voted by eligible coaches. Winners will be announced Dec. 11-18.
