Thierry Henry - Montreal Impact - 2020 preseason - video still frame

The Philadelphia Union beat the Concacaf Champions League-bound Montreal Impact 1-0 in a 2020 MLS preseason match played at Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex in Clearwater, Fla.

The loan goal was scored by Kacper Przybylko in the 57th minute and it held up as the winner. The 26-year-old Przybylko is coming off a breakout 15-goal season for the Union in 2019.

After the match, Impact head coach Thierry Henry acknowledged his team's slow start and the Union's strengths.

"Despite not starting as well as we should, this Philadelphia team has played this system for a while now. The team is mostly the same and their players have been playing together for a long time," Henry said via a club report. "We had a hard time getting into the game, but we finished a lot better. It could've been better at the start. We won't look for excuses, but I am satisfied with the way we performed near the end."

The Impact are preparing for the opening leg of their Champions League Round of 16 series against Costa Rican side Deportivo Saprissa (February 19 at 8 pm ET). The Union kick off competitive action in 2020 with their MLS Week 1 opener at FC Dallas on Saturday, February 29 (6 pm ET).
