CJ Sapong helped set up Elliot Collier's opener and then found the net himself to lift Chicago Fire FC to a 2-0 victory over hosts Orange County SC of the USL Championship on Wednesday afternoon.

It was a second consecutive preseason win for the Fire, who faced a second-division side this time around after opening their prep for the 2020 season against a pair of MLS foes in the Philadelphia Union and Nashville SC.

Many of coach Raphael Wicky's expected starters were held out of the friendly, contested over three 30-minute periods. For the final 30 minutes, the Fire featured a lineup that included five players not under a first-team contract.

Chicago's preseason continues on Saturday against the Colorado Rapids at the Dignity Heath Sports Park complex
