MLS Disciplinary Committee suspends Schuler, Asad for one game

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has handed down suspensions to two players and fined another player after Week 9 of the 2017 season.


Schuler serious foul play



The Disciplinary Committee has fined and suspended Real Salt Lake defender Chris Schuler for one game for serious foul play that endangered the safety of an opponent in the 10th minute of RSL’s match against Sporting Kansas City on April 29. Schuler will serve the suspension during RSL’s next match on Saturday, May 6 against FC Dallas (9:30 pm ET | MLS LIVE).


Asad violent conduct



The Disciplinary Committee has fined and suspended Atlanta United midfielder Yamil Asad for one game for violent conduct in the 83rd minute of Atlanta’s match against D.C. United on April 30. Asad will serve the suspension during Atlanta’s next match on Sunday, May 7 against New York City FC (4 pm ET; Univision in US | MLS LIVE in Canada).


Asprilla simulation/embellishment



Portland Timbers midfielder Dairon Asprilla was found guilty of simulation/embellishment during the 58th minute of the Timbers' match against FC Dallas on April 29. The Disciplinary Committee has issued Asprilla an undisclosed fine.
