MLS Disciplinary Committee fines four players, warns Orlando City

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has fined four players and issued one team a warning following the weekend games in Week 11 of the 2018 MLS regular season.


Giovinco failure to leave the field

The Disciplinary Committee has fined Toronto FC midfielder Sebastian Giovinco an undisclosed amount for failure to leave the field in a timely and orderly manner. The incident took place following Giovinco's red card in the 90th minute of Toronto's match against the New England Revolution on May 12.


Armenteros simulation/embellishment

The Disciplinary Committee has fined Portland Timbers forward Samuel Armenteros an undisclosed amount after finding him guilty of simulation/embellishment. The incident took place in the 81st minute of Portland's match against the Seattle Sounders on May 13.


Johnson simulation/embellishment

The Disciplinary Committee has fined Orlando City midfielder Will Johnson an undisclosed amount after finding him guilty of simulation/embellishment. The incident took place in the 90+ minute of Orlando's match against Atlanta United on May 13.


Orlando City mass confrontation

Orlando City have been found in violation of the league's Mass Confrontation Policy in the 82nd minute of Orlando's match against Atlanta United on May 13. As this is the Orlando's first violation of the policy in 2018, the club has been issued a warning.


In addition, the Disciplinary Committee has fined Orlando defender Lamine Sane an undisclosed amount for his role in instigating and escalating the mass confrontation incident.
