Atlanta United FC made the Brad Guzan signing official on Thursday, announcing that they’ve signed the US international goalkeeper to a multi-year contract using Targeted Allocation Money.

Guzan, who is currently under contract with English Premier League club Middlesbrough, will remain in England through the end of the EPL season. He’ll be added to Atlanta’s roster upon the opening of the secondary transfer window on July 10.

Guzan was acquired by Atlanta through the Allocation Process, with the expansion club using their No. 1 spot in the league’s Allocation Ranking Order to nab the 32-year-old ‘keeper.

“Brad is a proven Premier League and international goalkeeper and we’re delighted that he’s joining our club,” Atlanta United president Darren Eales said in a statement released by the club. “Once we made the decision to select the top pick in the allocation process, we were keen on acquiring him. We look forward to having him become an integral part of our team.”

Atlanta currently have two goalkeepers on the roster in Alexander Tambakis and Alec Kann.
