Miami Heat's Goran Dragic sports Inter Miami CF jersey ahead of MLS club's home opener

Goran Dragic - Miami Heat - Wearing Inter Miami jersey

Inter Miami CF have a fan in Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic.

Just a few days after the 33-year-old NBA veteran and his Heat teammates showed their support by attending Inter Miami's road match against D.C. United at Audi Field while they were in town for a game against the Washington Wizards, Dragic wore one of the expansion side's kits at a press conference.

Dragic is a noted soccer fan and Real Madrid supporter, but he's not the only member of the Heat who has a love for the game. The idea to attend Inter Miami's bout with DCU was reportedly conjured up with the help of teammates Jimmy Butler and Udonis Haslem.

Butler is a Paris Saint-Germain supporter due to his friendship with superstar forward Neymar, and he and Dragic have reportedly struck up a bond over their fandom of the sport. Haslem, meanwhile, is an avid supporter of all of Miami's other sports teams and has a long-standing friendship with D.C. United CEO and managing general owner Jason Levien, who used to be his agent.

The team took a tour of Audi Field before the match and took in the game from a suite next to Inter Miami owners Jorge and Jose Mas.

"Having a day off, I thought it would be a good idea to come over here together," Haslem told the Miami Herald. "What can I say about Miami? I always want to be a part of everything Miami, the culture, support something going on in Miami sports. It's fairly new, but I'm Miami through and through and wanted to see what Inter Miami is all about. If it says Miami, for me to come watch a Miami team, support Jason, I get the best of both worlds."

Dragic, Haslem, Butler and the rest of Inter Miami's supporters will be able to see the club in action at their new stadium for the first time on Saturday when they play their home opener against LA Galaxy (3 pm ET | FOX, FOX Deportes, FOX Sports App in the US, MLS LIVE on DAZN in Canada).
