Terrence Boyd's Toronto FC career got off to a rocky start on Tuesday, as he missed a penalty kick in the first half of his club debut. 


TFC traveled south to Panama to face Panama's Club Atletico Independiente for the opening match of the 2019 Concacaf Champions League, and quickly found themselves trailing 1-0 via a 9th-minute goal by CAI's Abdiel Ayarza. 


The Reds rallied and seemed to have dig out an equalizer at the half-hour mark when Laurent Ciman was fouled in the Independiente penalty box. But perhaps Boyd's adrenaline got the better of him as he stepped to the spot and blasted his bid well over the target:
