The juggernaut that is LAFC can clinch the top playoff spot in the Western Conference depending on results during Week 26, while Minnesota United are hoping to bounce back from a loss at Atlanta United in the U.S. Open Cup final when the sides meet at Banc of California Stadium on Sunday night.

LAFC (19-3-5) rallied from an early two-goal deficit last Sunday at the Banc, but have still yet to beat their crosscity rival following a scintillating 3-3 draw with the LA Galaxy. Latif Blessing struck for a brace and Carlos Vela netted the equalizer before coming off in the second half with a leg injury.

The Loons (12-9-6), even after a second-half rally, couldn't overcome a disastrous opening 16 minutes, falling to Atlanta in the Open Cup final at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Tuesday night. Six minutes after an own goal by Chase Gasper, Pity Martinez gave the hosts a two-goal lead in the 16th minute. Robin Lod scored two minutes after the intermission to make things interesting, then Michel Boxall missed a goalmouth chance to level in second-half stoppage time.

This is the first meeting between these clubs in 2019, as they'll also meet on Sept. 29 at Allianz Field.
