Leonardo Bertone scores first MLS goal in FC Cincinnati history

It took just 13 minutes, and then Leonardo Bertone made history for FC Cincinnati.

The Swiss midfielder, a newcomer to MLS alongside expansion side FC Cincy, scored the club's first-ever top flight goal on Saturday, against the Seattle Sounders at CenturyLink Field.

In a scoreless match, the ball looped out of the 18-yard box, and Bertone ran onto it, blasting a one-timer into the net and into the history books.

The goal is the third-fastest ever scored by an MLS expansion club. It's also the second year in a row in which an expansion team scored an early goal at CenturyLink Field, after LAFC opened their account in the 11th minute of their 2018 debut match, courtesy of Diego Rossi.
