After a stunning rally to defeat Club Leon, LAFC attempts to take down a second Liga MX foe when they host Cruz Azul at Banc of California Stadium Thursday night in the opening leg of their Concacaf Champions League quarterfinal matchup.


LAFC became the first team to rally from a 2-0 deficit to advance after defeating Club Leon, 3-0, in the second leg of the Round of 16 at home. Carlos Vela struck for a brace, including the 77th-minute equalizer, and Diego Rossi scored the clinching goal two minutes later to send LAFC into the quarterfinals. 


Cruz Azul, winners of the 2013/14 competition, needed a pair of stoppage-time goals to beat Portmore United, 2-1, in the opening leg in Jamaica. They then cruised to a 4-0 win at Estadio Azteca in the second leg.
