Jordan Harvey -- Looks Left -- All Alone

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Signing

LAFC added a healthy dose of MLS experience to their inaugural roster on Tuesday, when the incoming expansion club announced that theyā€™ve signed veteran left back Jordan Harvey via free agency.

Harvey, who will turn 34 on Jan. 28, announced the move on his Twitter account on Dec. 22.

Harvey spent the last seven years with the Vancouver Whitecaps. The Southern California native was a fixture for the ā€˜Caps, recording 10 goals and nine assists in 179 regular season appearances, all but 10 of which were starts. Prior to joining Vancouver, Harvey spent a year and half with Philadelphia and four seasons with Colorado.

ā€œJordan is a solid, reliable defender with so much experience in our league,ā€ said LAFC executive VP of soccer operations and general manager John Thorrington in a statement provided by the team. ā€œI have seen first-hand the strong veteran presence he will bring to our club as he returns to Southern California.ā€

Harvey ranks 16th among active field players with 270 career regular season appearances and is 40th in league history with 22,948 career minutes played. One of the most consistent performers in Vancouverā€™s MLS history, Harvey had one goal and one assist in 28 regular season games last year, but only played in one of the Whitecapsā€™ three playoff contests.

The UCLA product is the 10th player to sign with LAFC, joining a backline that already features center backs Laurent Ciman and Walker Zimmerman and fullback/winger Omar Gaber.

ā€œJordan has established himself in MLS, and his knowledge of the league is going to be invaluable to us as we build our club,ā€ LAFC head coach Bob Bradley said. ā€œI look forward to his leadership and the stability he provides both on and off the pitch.ā€
