Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) stadium renderings

Looks like soccer in the Los Angeles area is about to get another stadium to call home.

On Sunday evening, MLS expansion club Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), which is due to join the league by 2018, revealed on its social media channels renderings of a proposed stadium to be built in time for its inaugural season.

The news first broke earlier on Sunday in The LA Times, which reported that the 22,000-seat stadium will be built in Exposition Park on the site where the iconic Sports Arena has stood since opening in 1959.

The Times also reported that the $250-million project will include a conference center, restaurants and a soccer museum.

LAFC have scheduled a press conference for Monday at 11 am PT (2 pm ET).
