LAFC forward Danny Musovski has been voted the MLS Player of the Week for Week 17 after striking for a brace and an assist to power his team to a big 3-1 Western Conference victory over the Seattle Sounders on Sunday.

The 24-year-old doubled his goal total for the season to four with the pair of strikes, the first of which put LAFC on top 1-0 in the 15th minute in the immediate aftermath of a pair of two key injury substitutions, when the club lost both Mark-Anthony Kaye and Andy Najar

Musovski got the first goal of the contest with a headed finish off a pinpoint free kick from teammate Eduard Atuesta, who put the ball on a platter in front of goal.

Musovski then registered his first career MLS assist, as LAFC would make it 2-0 courtesy of a goal from Francisco Ginella in the 65th minute. Musovski sent in the cross that was corralled by teammate Bradley Wright-Phillips, who found Ginella for the finish.

After seeing the lead shrink to 2-1 when Seattle's Nicolas Lodeiro ripped a home a free kick in the 77th, Musovski struck for the dagger in the 84th with a clinically-taken volley after the ball took a deflection to him near the top of the area.

With the victory, LAFC moved 7-6-3 through 16 matches, putting them in fourth place in the Western Conference.

The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season through both media and fan voting in a process conducted by MLS Communications. A panel of journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) comprises 75 percent of the vote, while a Twitter fan vote represents the remaining 25 percent of voting. NASR consists of members of print, television, radio and online media.
