LA Galaxy star midfielder Landon Donovan sets new all-time MLS assist record vs. Toronto FC

LA Galaxy star Landon Donovan will retire at the end of the 2014 season with yet another MLS record to his name.

After setting the all-time MLS mark for career goals back in May, Donovan can now also lay claim to the all-time MLS assist record after notching his 136th career helper against Toronto FC on Saturday night at StubHub Center.

His three assists last weekend vs. the New York Red Bulls left Donovan tied with current Houston Dynamo assistant coach Steve Ralston, the former assist king who finished his career with 135 assists.

But the Galaxy midfielder would claim the assist record all for himself by logging the secondary assist on the Galaxy's 25th-minute tally vs. Toronto FC, knifing a pass to overlapping right back AJ DeLaGarza whose cross was finished with aplomb by Robbie Keane(WATCH IT HERE).

The killer pass added to Donovan's league-leading assist total in 2014 with his 19 helpers also representing a personal career high.
