LA Galaxy defender Ashley Cole missed the LA Galaxy’s 4-0 loss at Santos Laguna in the second leg of their CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal series on Tuesday night – turns out, the 35-year-old had a good reason.
Cole, who joined LA from AS Roma this offseason, flew to Rome following the first leg of the series last week to be with his girlfriend Sharon Canu for the birth of their son – his first child – earlier this week.
Congrats to Canu and Cole, who, according to LAGalaxy.com, will be available for the team’s MLS opener against D.C. United on Sunday (10:30 pm ET, UniMas in the US, MLS LIVE in Canada).
