Perez is the nephew of former US men’s national team player Hugo Perez and also spent a season on loan at Italian side Livorno, where he recorded three assists in 25 Serie C matches.
Perez came through the Chivas USA academy system before heading to Fiorentina, and also was a member of the US U-17 national team at the 2015 U-17 FIFA World Cup. He's appeared at the U-23 national team level, too.
