Josef Martinez throws more shade at Orlando City SC: "They're my kids"

THUMB ONLY: Josef Martinez - sitting in his armchair laughing

Josef Martinez is on the mend following knee surgery, but that hasn’t stopped him from throwing shade at rival Orlando City SC.

Lounging in a chair, Atlanta United’s star forward responded to some questions from fans via the team’s Twitter account.

He was asked who the best player he ever went up against (Messi) and favorite goal he scored (this goal in the 2018 MLS Cup Final was one of them).

The Venezuelan was also asked who his favorite team to play against and why?

Martinez smiled, rocked back and forth and fired this dart at Orlando City SC.

“Very easy. Orlando in Orlando because...I don't know why but it gives me a lot of adrenaline, and they're my kids.”

Martinez can back up that smack talk with his scoring prowess against the Lions.

He broke the then MLS single-season goal record with his 28th goal of the 2018 season with this winner at Exploria Stadum.

A year later, Martinez extended an MLS-record record of goals in 12 consecutive appearances with the lone goal in a 1-0 road win over Orlando City SC.

It was Martinez's 22nd goal of the season, the 17th in that 12-game stretch and his seventh all-time against Orlando, the most he's scored against any individual MLS club.
