Johnson may jump the pond to Fulham

A handful of International clubs were clamoring for Johnson. It appears that Fulham has gotten him to respond.

Kansas City Wizards forward Eddie Johnson has left the U.S. national team's training camp three days before Saturday's friendly against Sweden, according to U.S. national team spokesman Michael Kammarman said.

Johnson has been linked to a possible move to Fulham in England's Premier League.

The Washington Post reported Johnson is in "serious negotiations" with Fulham, who are next-to-last in the 20-club Premiership with a 2-11-9 record and over the second half of the season face a battle to stay in the English top flight and avoid relegation.

The 23-year-old Johnson reportedly turned down a proposed transfer to Derby in July. Derby is the one Premier League team with a worse record than Fulham.

Portuguese club Benfica and Spanish Segunda club Real Sociedad have all previously failed to land Johnson. Johnson has scored 11 goals in 31 international matches for the USA.
