Homegrown Diego Fagundez leading New England Revolution with scorching strikes: 4 goals in 4 games

This is the Diego Fagundez we remember from 2013 – only better. After posting 13 goals and 7 assists in a breakout season, Fagundez cooled last year, tallying just 5 strikes and 4 assists in 31 games.

But after working his way back to New England's starting XI, the Homegrown Player has found an impressive run of form, scoring in four straight games as the Revolution have claimed the top of the Eastern Conference table with an impressive 7-0-1 run. On Wednesday, Fagundez's 2nd-minute strike pressured the conference-rival New York Red Bulls, helping to hand New York only their second loss in 10 matches.

Fagundez joined the ExtraTime Radio crew earlier this week to give MLS fans the lowdown on muddin’ with Lee Nguyen, the Revs late-summer runs and his decision to represent Uruguay. You can listen above, and be sure to tune in for more Fagundez tonight at 9pm ET (MLS LIVE) as New England travels to Montreal for an Eastern Conference matchup against the Impact.
