MLS was back with a bang on #SoccerSunday. And that's no understatement.
All 20 teams opened the 2016 season on the same day for the first time in league history and they made it a memorable one, combining to set a new record for most goals ever in an MLS opening weekend.
The 10 matches produced an unprecedented 36 goals, surpassing the previous record of 27 set back in 2001 when the league had just 12 teams.
And several of the goals were of the spectacular variety, with NYCFC's Tommy McNamara setting the tone when he went upper 90 with the first MLS goal of the new season.
