Chivas USA of Major League Soccer today announced that goalkeeper coach Leo Percovich will be leaving the club to accept a position at Toronto FC ahead of the 2010 MLS Season.
"We would like to thank Leo Percovich for his service to our club," said Chivas USA Vice President of Soccer Operations, Stephen Hamilton. "He has been an important part of the team for the past two seasons, and we wish him the best in his new position."
Percovich joined Chivas USA prior to the 2008 season, working with goalkeepers Brad Guzan, Dan Kennedy, Lance Parker, Jon Conway, and Zach Thornton, the 2009 Goalkeeper of the Year recipient. Previously, Percovich had been with the Colorado Rapids, as well as clubs in Europe and Latin America.
Chivas USA will open preseason for the 2010 campaign in late January, and will play its first match of the 2010 season on Sunday, March 28, 2010, when it hosts the Colorado Rapids.
