The LA Galaxy traded goalkeeper Josh Wicks to D.C. United for a conditional pick in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft on Tuesday. A native of San Bernardino, Wicks spent one season with the Galaxy after being signed by the club from the Portland Timbers in March 2008.
Wicks appeared in six games with the Galaxy in 2008, making five starts and tallying a 1-2-3 record with a 2.18 goals against average. The 25-year old made his MLS debut when he came on at halftime of the Galaxy's 2-2 draw at New England on August 30, replacing the injured Steve Cronin. He earned his first win with the club against D.C. United on September 20, helping lead LA to a 5-2 win.
The 2007 USL First Division Goalkeeper of the Year, Wicks was in goal for the Galaxy in their 2-0 win over Oita Trinita in the semifinals of the Pan-Pacific Championship on February 18.
