Ahead of the Audi 2020 MLS Cup, Major League Soccer tapped Black Arrow FC, a platform dedicated to the intersection of soccer and Black culture, to revive and reimagine a classic moment in American soccer authored by former D.C. United defender and US men's national team staple Eddie Pope.  


Pope, one of the first Black MLS stars who went on to inspire many of its current players, was a 22-year-old rookie when he scored the game-winning golden goal in extratime of the league's inaugural MLS Cup Final that saw D.C. United top the LA Galaxy 3-2 thanks to his dramatic headed finish. 


He went on to win two more MLS Cups, earn four Best XI selections and anchor the USMNT's back line in three World Cups, and was recently voted as a selection for Major League Soccer's 25 Greatest Players.
