FS1, FOX Deportes select RBNYvDC, MINvLAFC for Week 30 flex TV scheduling

Flex scheduling will put two big MLS Week 30 matches on national television – including the oldest rivalry in the league.

FS1 and FOX Deportes have selected the Atlantic Cup clash between the New York Red Bulls and D.C. United at Red Bull Arena and league leaders LAFC’s visit to Minnesota United as their national broadcast games on Sunday, highlighting the significant postseason implications in both affairs.

With Wayne Rooney's D.C. side in fourth place, just one point ahead of RBNY in the Eastern Conference standings, the Red Bulls need to defeat their old enemies as they seek to climb into the top half of the East bracket and earn the right to host a first-round match in the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs. That game will kick off at 5 pm ET.

Meanwhile Minnesota hope to ambush LAFC – who are winless since Aug. 21 – at Allianz Field as the Loons eye the prospect of finishing second in the Western Conference. That game is scheduled for 7:30 pm ET. All other Week 30 games will air on local TV and on ESPN+ out of market in the US.

Flex scheduling allows allows national broadcast partners to select the most compelling matches and pivotal moments throughout the league. The 2019 regular season will wrap up on Oct. 6 with MLS Decision Day presented by AT&T, featuring 12 simultaneous matches involving all 24 MLS clubs.
