The Chicago Fire waived forwards Tomasz Frankowski and Andy Herron on Wednesday.
Frankowski signed with the Fire on February 21, 2008 and played in 17 games, making seven starts. Through his 628 minutes the Polish striker scored two goals, both against New England on April 3, and two assists. He began his career with Jagiellonia Bialystok in 1991 and has since played for clubs in Poland, France, Japan, Spain, and England. Frankowski has also recorded 10 goals for the Polish National Team in 20 appearances.
Through his four seasons with Chicago, Herron netted 15 goals and three assists in 61 games played (38 starts). In 2008, Herron played in 18 games, starting in four. Chicago re-acquired the Costa Rican native in February of 2008 after trading his rights to Columbus in a 2007. Herron has scored 19 goals and notched five assists through 79 games played (48 starts) overall in MLS play.
