FC Dallas have re-signed defender Bressan to a multi-year deal and re-acquired goalkeeper Phelipe Megiolaro on a one-year loan from Gremio ahead of the 2021 MLS season, the club announced Monday.

Bressan is on a guaranteed contract for 2021 with club options for the 2022 and 2023 seasons, while Megiolaro’s deal gives FC Dallas the option to exercise a permanent transfer from the Brazilian Serie A club after the 2021 campaign.

Bressan, 27, was originally signed from Gremio with Targeted Allocation Money ahead of the 2019 season. He’s appeared in 18 games each of the last two seasons, adding one goal and two assists during that span. While at Gremio, the center back helped win the 2017 Copa Libertadores trophy. He's also played on loan at Penarol and Flamengo after starting his professional career with Juventude.

Megiolaro, 21, joined FC Dallas last August on loan from Gremio, starting one game. He’s been called into Brazil’s U-23 national team, where he’s made three appearances to date.

FC Dallas advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals during the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs, where they lost to the Seattle Sounders. They’re entering their third year under head coach Luchi Gonzalez.
