Ben Mines - New York Red Bulls - celebrates a goal with Kyle Duncan

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing

FC Cincinnati and attacker Ben Mines have agreed to a deal, the club announced Wednesday. Cincy selected Mines with the top pick in the End-of-Year Waivers Draft earlier this offseason.

Mines, 20, signed a Homegrown contract with the New York Red Bulls in 2017 and has two goals and one assist in 262 MLS minutes, scattered across six appearances between 2018-20. He made one start in 2020.

His RBNY contract option for 2021 was declined, which made him available for the Waiver Draft. He was the only player selected.

Cincy's offseason is picking up momentum. Earlier this week the club acquired left back Ronald Matarrita in a trade with NYCFC and signed him to a long-term contract. The club expect to be busy again this winter with 21 players under contract thus far.
